SAS Pudong FLL Team in St. Louis
April 27th. The SAS FLL team undertook a walkabout Tuesday morning down to the St Louis Arch. Today the meet begins with registration and Pit setup. It will be a long day of setup and practice. Pictures coming this evening.
SAS MS FLL Team Set for Next Saturday
Jan 31st – The SAS PD MS First Lego League Teams are getting set for next Saturday’s (Feb 7th) trip to HIS to compete. We are taking 8 teams as well as a boat load of equipment. We will be transporting 4 of our Lego competition boards as well as 6 of of Challenge Missions to HIS for the meet. Students are still working of various parts of their Presentations and Programing so this first competition is really about seeing where each team is an what they have to work on. The Final Competition of the year will be at SAS Pudong where we could see upwards of 40 teams which is double last year’s number.
So here we go “3..2..1..LEGO!”
Library New from Oct 6-10th, 2014
Oct 10th– What a full week back from Break. This week saw the library decked out in Halloween colors with paper pumpkins, webs, and spiders. Photos coming soon. In addition the library is preparing for the coming next week of Bryn Barnard- Author and Illustrator. Bryn has been over on the Puxi campus this week and we get him on Monday. His emphasis is Middle school but will be making extensions into HS Art. To go with this Barbara and Tim have been book talking his work to the 8th Grade Science Classes. See the image below. By Monday we will all be ready.
In the library work has been going on in many fronts. We have begun our big “weed” of the non-fiction books. Already 2 carts out in 2 days. A lot more work to do, however… We have had a rush on our Kindles in that we were able to get “Blood of Olympus” for the library and the Kindles have been rushing out the door. We placed the new R. Riordan book has been eagerly awaited. On other fronts the library is gearing up for the new First Lego League season. It will begin at the end of October. More news coming about this.
SAS PD First Lego League Tourney
Jan 24th – The SAS PD First Lego League Tourney will take place on the SAS Pudong Campus January 25th. We, the Secondary Library (Barbara and Tim Boyer, and the MS (Kevin David) with a whole host of Volunteers from the SAS PD campus including others will host 21 MS FLL Teams as they compete in FLL 2013 “Nature’s Fury” Research, Programing Design and Robot Mission competitions. SAS, both the Pudong and Puxi Campuses as well as CISS and HIS have teams involved in this competition. If you are interested in Legos and the Middle School Level Robotics you need to check out First Lego League. SAS PD and First Lego League – Jan 25th Competition
Jan 15th – The SAS Secondary Library is gearing up for the big First Lego Competition on the 25th. There will be 21 teams participating from around the greater Shanghai Region. The students have worked hard since last September and their culminating Tournament will occur on the SAS PD Campus. — More to Come
